Vienna, looking for Sissi
Of the first tourists to travel the thousand or so kilometres between Nice and Vienna, one has had her name immortalised by history and the small screen: Elisabeth of Austria, nicknamed “Sissi”. Now, over a century later, it is tourists from the French Riviera who are visiting the famous Empress, thanks to a Nice-Vienna flight: much faster than the steam trains and carriages of the past! They search for her memory in the corridors of the Hofburg or the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace, or even among the waltzing couples at the Austrian capital’s hundreds of balls. A romantic quest that transforms a simple Nice-Vienna flight ticket into a love story!

What to do in
Vienna ?
A city where everyone flocks to see a kiss (the one in Gustav Klimt’s famous painting, on display at the Belvedere) must be romantic. And it really is: Vienna kindles or rekindles love, offering its visitors a very special atmosphere. Is it the refinement of its architecture, the simple charm of the locals, the indulgent offerings in its cafés, the warmth of its thermal baths, the beauty of its palaces, the grace of its waltzes, or the serenity of the Danube? Whatever the reason, no other city is as favourable to letting go, sharing, and indulging your emotions.

Waltz away your weekend in Vienna
See more See lessYou can of course visit alone, but Vienna is most beautiful when you experience it as a couple, forgetting the rest of the world on a weekend escape. The city will whisk you away in a long and beautiful waltz. And that means that just like the dance, you will experience this city to a count of three.
One: discovery. If Vienna has a fairy godmother, she must be an architect! The city is like an open-air architecture museum. From palaces to cafés, and from churches to high-rise buildings, Vienna offers gems from the past (Gothic, Baroque, Art Nouveau…) and the present. Hans Hollein, Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, Zaha Hadid, Jean Nouvel: all winners of the Pritzker Prize, the “Nobel” of architecture, whose talent has shaped the city.
Two: emotion. Sissi’s apartments and her crinoline dresses, the violins and melodies of the Strauss family, Klimt’s golden paintings and Schiele’s watercolours: the Belle Époque shows its true beauty in Vienna.
Three: pleasure. Vienna offers simple, tranquil pleasures, such as a coffee and a slice of tart, bathing in sulphur water and getting a massage, walking around the Prater and a ride on the Ferris wheel…
