In May 2021, Aena and Aeroporti di Roma signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create the Airports for Innovation (A4I) network to share technological initiatives and digital solutions that improve the passenger experience as they pass through airports.
Athens International Airport, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, Dallas Fort Worth Airport, Vancouver International Airport, Flughafen München, Dubai International (DXB), Oman Airports, and Narita Airport have subsequently joined the network on different dates. A4I has thus become a truly global network, bringing together ten of the world's leading airport groups.
A4I pursues three main objectives: to design innovative solutions to redefine and improve the passenger experience, to foster the adoption of technologies and joint solutions that make life easier for travelers as they pass through any airport in the network, and to propose and test effective models that could be standardized and adopted in the long term by the whole aviation community.
