Nice Côte d’Azur obtains aci health accreditation

Published on 20-01-21

Since March 2020, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport has been highly committed to the fight against the transmission of COVID-19, and has been a pioneer of various measures, which have since been recognised and even required by healthcare authorities. The airport has made a commitment to the wider profession by means of the EASA Charter, in addition to recently obtaining ACI Health Accreditation, which validates their efforts and the measures implemented across the airport.

In addition to being France’s second-busiest airport hub, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is now the second airport in the country, after Paris, to be granted the ACI Health Accreditation, which is currently the most demanding certification in the sector, and recognised internationally. It validates the excellence of the health protection measures implemented over the course of the past months in all areas used by passengers and airport staff: terminal access points, check-in, inspection points, boarding areas, lounges, stores, food and drink outlets, gate facilities, boarding bridges, stairways and escalators, border control, baggage, etc.

This international accreditation was obtained following an analysis of the various health protection measures implemented across the airport in accordance with French regulations, in addition to the recommendations set out by ACI (Airports Council International) and the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) based on best practice in the sector. The disinfection measures, physical distancing, staff protection, and the creation of a testing centre within the airport are all part of the studied and approved systems.

Obtaining this certification, following a strict documentation auditing procedure, is well-deserved recognition for all of the airport’s staff who, from the beginning of this pandemic, have sought out solutions and implemented health protection measures to tackle this unprecedented situation. We are convinced that the resumption of our activity cannot take place without the restoration of trust, both amongst our passengers and partners, as well as airlines, ground-handling agents and retailers. This certification demonstrates our sense of responsibility, and our commitment to the future of air transport, which must not only be low-emission, but also entirely safe from a public health perspective,” declares Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Board of Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur.
