Air Canada celebrates the 10th anniversary of its Nice-Montreal route

This year, the airline is adding a fifth weekly flight

In 10 years, Air Canada has doubled its capacity between Nice and Montreal

NICE, 29 May 2024 - Air Canada celebrates 10 years of its direct flight between Nice and Montreal. In 2013, a Boeing B767-300 flew this route three times a week. For the 2024 season, the airline will provide a capacity of 32,373 seats over 109 rotations, compared with 26,932 seats over 92 rotations in 2023 (>20%).

“We are very proud of our long-established route between Nice and Canada. Given the continuing demand for travel to Europe, we are delighted to be increasing our frequency to five weekly flights this summer. Air Canada has developed its international hub in Montreal to provide North American travellers with a simple and convenient solution to and from the Côte d'Azur”, says Jean-François Raudin, Executive Vice President France, Air Canada.

The Air Canada Nice-Montreal route will operate five times a week from 3 May to 25 October 2024. This is the airline's fifth direct flight from mainland France this summer, adding to its existing flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Toronto and Montreal, between Lyon and Montreal, and its new year-round flight between Toulouse and Montreal as of 2 June 2023.

Air Canada operates an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 297 passengers on the route between Nice and Montreal. The aircraft offers customers a choice of three service cabins, including Air Canada Signature Class with lie-flat seats, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class. All flights are scheduled to improve the connections with Air Canada's extensive North American network. Air Canada currently offers year-round non-stop flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle, Toronto and Montreal, between Lyon and Montreal and between Toulouse and Montreal, as well as a seasonal direct flight between Nice and Montreal. Air Canada also operates direct flights all year round between the French overseas regions and Canada from Fort-de-France and Pointe-à-Pitre to Montreal and a seasonal direct flight between Fort-de-France and Toronto. In total, the airline operates 45 weekly flights from mainland France and the French overseas regions to its hubs in Montreal and Toronto during the peak summer season.

Pre-clearance for US Customs

It's easy to travel to the United States with Air Canada by taking a connecting flight in Canada. Passengers departing from France do not need to collect their baggage during the transfer and can pre-clear US customs and immigration in Montreal and Toronto.
