World Passenger Day 2024
Launched by Nice Airport last year, World Passenger Day returns on November 17. This celebration, embraced by many airports this year, honors passengers with activities, surprises, and a contest.
This certification guarantees airport users that the ground handling services meet the highest safety standards. It is part of a continuous process to improve service quality at Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur.
Following a rigorous audit process, the certification board awarded Golfe de Saint-Tropez Airport the IS-BAH certificatation, level 1, adding its congratulations. This is the culmination of two years' work involving all the airport's teams and rewards a unique hub in that it already manages all the Safety Management Systems (airport fire brigade, control tower, etc.). The Var airport has set itself the goal of obtaining the level 2 certification in two years.
“Our customers have been asking for this certification, as a guarantee of service quality and operational safety. The fact that the standard has been drawn up by ground handling professionals and is updated every year assures our operational excellence”, said Joseph Azzaz, Director of Golfe de Saint-Tropez Airport, with satisfaction.
The IS-BAH certification validates two fundamental aspects. Firstly, implementing and managing a culture of the risks inherent in the aviation business, across all teams. Secondly, rewriting all processes and training all teams in safety issues and the concept of a just culture. The latter has led to the widespread use of notifications.
“Beyond the certification itself, the process of obtaining it has made it possible to establish a climate of trust and responsibility, as well as providing teams with a better understanding of their jobs, thus enhancing their performance. All of which clearly benefits our day-to-day ground handling operations’ ", added Joseph Azzaz.

Following a call for tenders launched in September 2023, France's second-largest airport has selected the operators and brands that will manage the 28 retail outlets at the heart of its three commercial and business aviation terminals. The new outlets will open gradually between 2025 and 2026. They illustrate the strategy of offering its millions of passengers a unique experience, a blend of tranquility, well-being, local expertise and luxury à la française.
