Pierre Hermé's story

Born in Alsace into a family with four generations of pastry-makers and passionate about pastry-making, Pierre already knew at the age of 9 that this was his chosen profession.

At the age of 14, he left his beautiful region to work for Gaston Lenôtre and learn from the master. This is where he discovered the macaron. He went on to work for Fauchon, then Ladurée, before founding Pierre Hermé in 1998.

On 14 June 2016, Pierre Hermé was voted the World's Best Pastry Chef by the Academy of the World's 50 Best Restaurants. That same year, Vanity Fair named him the fourth most influential Frenchman in the world.

His work, curiosity, knowledge and culture of flavours along with his creations are revolutionising the ‘pâtisserie’ world.
Today, Pierre Hermé has more than 50 shops in twelve countries, including Japan, the United Kingdom, South Korea and Morocco.
